How to be an Airhead

This is an instructional poster guide to becoming an oblivious listener against verbal abuse.

Designed in a graphically comical style, my main target audience are children, particularly children who may receive verbal abuse at home because children are at the age where they are most vulnerable and are unable to speak out. Thus my project aims to relieve the unhappiness within these children.

As children, the most important thing for them is to play as playing is fundamental in learning. The 6 steps in the guide are some fun ways that they can play to cope with the problem. The idea of a colourful hot-air balloon rising up into the sky amongst the “fire-pencil-bombs” is a representation of how children are like little bubbles of hope and joy getting hurt by words that are not helpful in their growing stage. Despite that, the duck, being an example, shows the children how they can still have fun, play and be heroes.
